What a duplicate means

A SKU identifies a product or a specific variation. If two records share the same SKU, review whether they describe the same product or two different products. HassleKit flags each repeated SKU in the file as an error and lists the affected records.

A collision to review

Both a small shirt and a medium shirt use TEE-S. If they are separate variations, give each its intended unique SKU, such as TEE-S and TEE-M. Update any parent references if you change a parent SKU.

Check the import workflow before renaming

When updating existing products, WooCommerce uses IDs or SKUs to match records. Changing an established SKU can break that match. Repeated rows might be accidental copies or intentional updates to one product; compare names, IDs and attributes before removing or editing them.

Review the file with the checker

  1. Choose your WooCommerce export in the checker.
  2. Select the Duplicate SKU issue group.
  3. Compare product names, IDs and record numbers.
  4. Edit a copy of the source CSV, rerun the check and test a small import.

What this check cannot see

HassleKit checks repeated SKUs inside this CSV. It cannot detect a collision with a product that exists only in your store. Blank SKUs are warnings, since an update may identify a product by ID instead. Leading zeroes in identifiers should be preserved when using a spreadsheet editor.
